Pale to medium lavender amethyst from Vera Cruz, Mexico — renowned for perfectly doubly-terminated floater crystals with exceptional transparency...
Unique piece
Description
Vera Cruz amethyst — produced from the Las Vigas de Ramírez district of Veracruz, Mexico — is among the most distinctive amethyst in the world. The crystals are typically pale to medium lavender-violet, often perfectly doubly-terminated (sceptres and floaters), transparent, and showing characteristic internal phantoms or growth zones in deeper violet.
Unlike the dark purple amethyst of Brazil or Uruguay, Vera Cruz material is valued for its extraordinary clarity, delicate colour, and perfect crystal form. The locality produces both sceptre crystals and classic pointed prisms on matrix. Vera Cruz amethyst has been seriously collected since the 1970s and commands a dedicated global following among crystal collectors.
