The story behind Crystal World
About Us
From an Amazonite cluster in Austria
to four continents
It started in the ground in Austria — a cluster of Amazonite in smoky quartz, tourmalines running through it, pulled out by my own hands. The first mineral I ever excavated myself. That moment changed everything. I had always been a traveller, and from that point on every journey through Europe included mineral museums, natural history collections, regional shows. I started learning to see.
At home, the interest turned practical. I began digging myself — various sites in Slovenia and Austria, learning what the ground actually gives up. The hobby grew steadily: more specimens, more knowledge, a collection that kept demanding more attention. For 20 years I have been a regular at European mineral shows — first as a buyer, now also as an exhibitor. Shows are where the real education happens. Handling thousands of pieces in person, practically every month before, now several times a month — there is no faster way to understand what quality looks like.
That personal passion became a professional operation a decade ago. Crystal World is built on selection, not volume — every piece is chosen in person, evaluated by hand. Every expedition specimen has a story I can tell you: the mine, the region, sometimes the exact pocket. Twenty years of experience means I know what a great specimen looks like before it's cleaned. When I can't tell you precisely where something came from, I say so.

Mine-Direct
Every expedition specimen comes directly from the source — no dealers, no middlemen. You know exactly where it was found.
Hand-Selected
No bulk buying. Each piece is evaluated in person — colour, form, termination, matrix. Only the best make it into the collection.
Honest Provenance
Locality data is specific and accurate. If we don't know the exact mine, we say so. No invented "Minas Gerais, Brazil" labels on unnamed material.
Collector to Collector
We are active collectors first. We exhibit at 30+ European shows every year — come and inspect specimens in person before you buy.
We exhibit at 30+ mineral shows across Europe every year
There is no substitute for holding a crystal in your hands. Come and see us at a show near you — bring a loupe, ask questions, compare pieces side by side. No purchase pressure, ever.
